The Religious Unconscious

Added on December 23, 2021 by Jaime Permuth.

Distinguished writer and artist Pablo Helguera published an essay today entitled “The Religious Unconscious” in which he meditates on the nature of the religious impulse. He also references my project on a community of "Anusim" in Yonkers, NY which I photographed on commission from The Jewish Museum in 2005.

Read Pablo’s essay here.
